Living off the beaten path has its advantages and its drawbacks. The advantages are in the area of peace of mind or mental health. Those who know me best know that I can use all the help I can get in this area so I’m not planning to move in the near future. Some of the drawbacks are in the ability to keep in touch with friends and family.
For instance; it’s a bit of a drive to visit the family; DSL is not available here so I’ve had to go satellite, in order to get internet speed that I can live with; and I have to go out of my way to get groceries because the most convenient store doesn’t carry my favorite cookies and there are some things that I will not go without.
Nicole is in Africa, Patrick is in Japan, Dick is in Hawaii, Cindy is in Florida and Mom and Dad will be heading down there soon. These are some of my favorite people and it’s not easy keeping in contact. Hopefully this blog will help with that, it certainly can’t hurt, so here it is. I’m just setting it up now so… more to come in the future.
